Le dimissioni del Papa. Un argomento che dovrebbe suscitare attenzione, dibattito, curiosità non solo tra chi professa la religione cattolica, ma tra tutti. Un’istituzione che sopravvive per 2000 anni è soprattutto una materia di studio per chi dichiara di avere interesse nelle “scienze politiche”, o nella politica, in senso più generale. Ed invece, niente. Mi duole dirlo, ma qui a Syracuse ho visto più interesse per la performance di Beyoncé durante il Super Bowl che per un gesto che segnerà la storia.
The retirement of the Pope. Something that should boost attention, debate, curiosity not only among the catholics, but among everyone. An institution that survives for more than 2000 years should above all fascinate who declares to be interested in “political science” or, more generally, in politics. But, nothing. It is sad for me to say, but here in Syracuse I have seen more interest in the performance of Beyoncé during the Super Bowl than in an event that will be remembered in the history books.
